Los Angeles, CA (January 21, 2025) – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has identified 32-year-old Derek Clay as the pedestrian who tragically lost his life in a crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.
The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on January 19 in the express lane of the freeway near West Slauson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle struck Clay in the area under circumstances that remain unclear. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Clay was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
